How to compare AI business tools without getting fooled.

Three questions to ask before you buy. The answers reveal whether the tool is a platform or a wrapper.

Whose model is it. If the answer is OpenAI or Anthropic, you are paying twice. Once for the wrapper and once for the underlying API call.

Where does the output live. If the output lives on the vendor servers, you are renting your own work. Ask for export.

How does it improve. A real platform improves the longer you use it. A wrapper does not.
